I have served as a Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas Judge since February 2021. Prior service includes Hamilton County Treasurer for 29 years. I have also served as President of the Hamilton County Investment Advisory Committee, President of the County Board of Revision, President of the County Budget Commission and President of the Hamilton County Land Bank.

I am an Eagle Scout, a small business owner and an Adjunct Professor of Bankruptcy at Chase College of Law. I earned my BS at Denison University (Phi Beta Kappa) and Law Degree from Chase College of Law. I am an avid Squash player and is the President of the Cincinnati Squash Racquets Assoc. I have served on the Board of the Dan Beard Council (BSA) as Treasurer, Boards of Kids Helping Kids, and as an Independent Trustee of the $400 million Eubel Brady & Suttman Mutual Fund Trust, and  Chairman of its Audit and Governance Committee.

I am uniquely qualified to serve a Judge on the First District Court of Appeals. Throughout my long legal career, I have served as counsel for many individuals and businesses facing severe financial problems. In keeping with my commitment to our community, I have helped train the next generation of lawyers in our region by teaching as an adjunct professor of law at Northern Kentucky University – Chase College of Law. If elected, I would be the only Judge on the Court of Appeals with Trial Judge experience.

Robert A. Goering was admitted to the practice of law in 1986. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Ohio, U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio and the Eastern District of Kentucky, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He has prosecuted thousands of cases in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, Courts of Appeal and Courts of Common Pleas.

As a Common Pleas Judge for Hamilton County, Rob has presided over hundreds of criminal and civil cases, including many pleas, bench and jury trials (Murder, Felonious Assault, Robbery just to name a few).
